The Lost Art (TLA) LLC provides dynamic etiquette and leadership training for children, teens, young adults, and professionals. Our programs cover essential topics such as:
- Practicing everyday manners
- Communicating with kindness
- Building respectful relationships
- Enhancing networking skills
- Mastering the ABCs of table etiquette
Our seminars are uniquely tailored to meet the developmental needs of three age groups:
- Little Ambassadors (ages 5–7)
- Young Diplomats (ages 8–13)
- Future Professionals (ages 14–18)
Each session equips participants to interact confidently and respectfully with family, friends, teachers, teammates, and others—while navigating age-appropriate social challenges.

About The Founder

John A. Scott is the President and Founder of The Lost Art (TLA), LLC, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also established The Etiquette and Leadership Institute of Indiana (ELII), LLC (Indianapolis, IN), and serves as a consultant for Etiquette2Go (E2G), continuing his mission to empower individuals through leadership and civility.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Scott dedicated 22 years to military service, inspiring both soldiers and civilians to pursue excellence in every endeavor. His leadership cultivated teamwork, instilled self-confidence, and promoted diplomacy among those he mentored.
His global travels across Asia, Europe, and the Americas enriched his understanding of diverse cultures and customs, deepening his commitment to educating others in etiquette and social graces. His work with the Starfish Initiative Mentoring Group, which supports teens through mentorship, further fueled his passion for guiding youth in the art of respectful communication.
Mr. Scott holds a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. He is certified by the esteemed Etiquette and Leadership Institute in Athens, Georgia, and the Protocol School of Washington in Washington, D.C.
In recognition of his dedication to diversity and service, he was honored in 2010 as the United Way – Central Indiana Diversity Volunteer of the Year (Adult Group).
His unwavering commitment to community is reflected in his active involvement with service organizations and his church. Mr. Scott has also shared his expertise in etiquette and leadership with media outlets, including WHMB TV-40, Radio Disney, Indianapolis Monthly Magazine, Hamilton County newspapers, and Indy Child Magazine.
Through the use of customized programs, our goal is to assist in the mastery of the social and leadership skills necessary to achieve success at all levels.
